Robert "Bugs" Armstrong 79, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 29, 2014. Robert was a graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Indiana State University. He was a retired Electrical Engineer for Naval Avionics. He was considered one of the pioneers of Indiana caving. He was Vice President of Bluespring Caverns Inc., he was also a member of Lost River Conservation Task Force, National Speleological Society, Indiana Geology Club, Scientech and a life member of the N.R.A. He is survived by his brother, Richard (Lula Elmore) Armstrong; niece, Sheryl Bass; nephew, Mike Armstrong; three great nieces; two great nephews and many friends and colleagues. Services will be on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 4 p.m. with calling from 2 p.m. till service time at Flanner and Buchanan Broad Ripple. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Speleological Society.
