Fishers, Indiana

Robert Adams, descending from the Adams line that gave us of President John Adams, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026. Robert, known as Bob or Boppa by his grandchildren, was born on August 16, 1933.

Bob served in the Korean War in the U.S. Navy for four years on a heavy cruiser, the U.S.S.Toledo, and loaded artillery during combat.

He married Charlotte Adams in 1955. He and Charlotte raised their two sons in Poughkeepsie, NY and Lexington, Kentucky.

Bob graduated from Bradley University and worked primarily as an Industrial Engineer for IBM for over 25 years.

Bob enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge and Pinochle. He had the ability to count cards and he pretty much knew what was in everybody’s hand all the way up to his final week. He looked forward to watching UK basketball and Indiana sports teams.

Bob and Charlotte also liked skiing and square dancing and were very active in church activities such as counting offerings and putting together bulletins. They also were avid travelers, visiting Alaska, Hawaii, all 50 states, Europe, Caribbean islands, New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, and even Africa.

After Bob retired he and Charlotte moved to Fishers, Indiana to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Bob is preceded in death by Charlotte (married 65 years) and great-grandson Arlee Cox.

He is survived by his two sons, Dave and Rich Adams, Dave’s wife Kim, Rich’s wife Lori, five grandchildren, Ashlee Adams, Caleb Adams, Jake Adams, Courtney Cox, and James Adams, and four great grandchildren, Owen, Charlotte, Remy, and Ethan.

The lasting legacy that Bob and Charlotte left was a life of service and faith in Jesus. They will both be deeply missed by everyone.
