Robert Allan Lewis, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 5, 2026, after a long battle with heart disease. Born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Allan and Dorothy Lewis, Bob was a dedicated husband, father, new grandfather, brother and friend who brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew him.
Growing up, Bob could regularly be found building things, competing in sports and always being the life of the party. He turned his joy of building things into a career owning his own interior office furnishing company for over 40 years.
Bob and his family later moved to Carmel, Indiana and it was here he would meet the love of his life and devoted wife of almost 50 years, Linda Cooler Lewis.
Bob was a lover of sports, especially anything involving the Purdue Boilermakers. He was a standout football player in high school and was a member of the track and field team. He passed this love of sports onto his children, never missing one of their games.
Ever the avid hobbyist, Bob could often be found tinkering in his office, building models and trains, or in the basement woodworking. He was an animal lover, often spending time dog sitting with his wife Linda. He loved spending time at his family’s lake house; jet skiing, boating and spending time with those he loved most.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children David Lewis (Emily), Brian Lewis (Adrienne), Ashley Crick (Matt), and grandson Wyatt Crick; siblings Bill Lewis (Dale), Janet Burger (Bill), Nancy Lewis and Bart Lewis (Theresa), as well as countless nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert’s honor may be made to The Hamilton County Humane Society or The American Heart Association.
A memorial gathering will be held for family and friends on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 12pm -2pm at Flanner Buchanan - Carmel (325 E. Carmel Dr. Carmel, IN 46032). A memorial service will start directly following at 2pm.
