Rita Kay Dobbs, 75, of Fishers, Indiana, passed away on August 11, 2026. She was born on April 5, 1951, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Rita was a woman whose kindness, humor, and love touched countless lives. She was the kind of person who would always help anyone in need and never hesitate to give whatever she could to make someone else’s life a little easier. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of making people laugh, and she was rarely far from a song. Rita loved to sing and could often be found filling the room with music.

She loved the beach, playing card games, working on puzzles, shopping, and, most of all, spending time with the people and animals she loved. Her favorite color was red, a fitting reflection of the warmth, passion, and love she carried with her. Rita also loved watching television and movies, especially her favorite crime shows, which she could happily spend hours watching. Her love for animals was especially strong, and her beloved dogs, Nala and Gracie, held a very special place in her heart.

Rita spent much of her professional life working at FCCI as a commercial underwriter, where she built a career through dedication and hard work.

Above all, Rita was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is survived by her son, Matthew Dobbs and his wife, Lexie Dobbs; and her grandchildren, Maygen Nicholas, Jaxson Dobbs, and Mason Dobbs. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Grimes, Deborah Baker, Patricia Cain, and Cheryl Russell.

Rita was preceded in death by Thomas Duncan Sr.; Ruby Duncan; Thomas Duncan Jr.; Donald Duncan; Ronald Duncan; and her daughter, Michelle Nicholas.

Rita leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, music, kindness, and love. Her presence made the world brighter for the people fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will live on in everyone whose life she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
