Ricky Allen Wilburn

Ricky Wilburn 63 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2023.  He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 21, 1960, to the late Clinton and Helen (Gibson) Wilburn.  Ricky worked for Indiana University in Information Technology for many years.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and was quite the jokester, enjoyed playing most any games, video or board games, enjoyed watching movies, especially Sci-Fi, he was very generous almost to a fault, and enjoyed spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews.  He was loved by many and will be truly missed by all who knew him.  Ricky is survived by his son, Rick Wilburn, his stepmother, Eva Wilburn, his sisters, Brenda (Mike) Chinn, Teresa (Jay) Lile, Lisa Christopher, his stepsisters, Leasa (Victor), Renee (Jeff), Rita (Mike), his stepbrothers, Eddie (Pam), Steve (Tami), his brother-in-law, Clarence, and his girlfriend, Debbie Prewitt.  Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his stepsister, Peggy. Ricky's wishes are to be cremated and his family will be celebrating his life on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at the VFW Post 908 located at 3011 S. Lockburn Street Indianapolis, Indiana from 12:00pm-5:00pm.  Ricky's wish was that everyone eat, drink, and be merry, so his son, Rick has established a "Wake Fund" that will take care of the drinks at the cash bar during this event or until the fund runs out, whichever ever comes first.  Food will also be provided for those attending. To honor Ricky's wish please feel free to partake and not hold back nor to feel guilty during his celebration, as this is how he would want it. No outside alcohol at all  may be brought into the celebration.
