Richard George Such

Richard George Such, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away August 31, 2023, in Indianapolis. He was born on July 26, 1945, in Indianapolis to the late George and Senifta Such. Richard is survived by his sister Regina Bopp, brother-in-law Edward Bopp, daughter Jamie Such, sons Rick Such and Robert McClara.

Richard, also known as Dick, was a hardworking individual who dedicated himself to various pursuits throughout his life. As a young man, he worked as a paperboy and spent many hours at the local bowling alleys, honing his skills.

In January 1968, Richard joined the Air Force and served as a Munitions Maintenance Specialist in Viet Nam until October 2071. His military service was marked by dedication, discipline, and a commitment to duty.

Following his military service, Richard pursued a career as a Civil CAD draftsman, working for Boyd Phelps and other companies. His expertise and attention to detail made him highly regarded in his field.

Richard found solace and community at the Romanian Orthodox Christian Church on 16th St, where he was raised. His faith provided him with guidance and strength throughout his life.

In his free time, Richard enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He was an avid bowler, a talented photographer, and loved flying remote control airplanes. He also had a passion for cooking, shopping, and spending time with friends at Crestwood Village North. Above all, he cherished taking care of his daughter, Jamie.

A private memorial service honoring Richard's life will be held in October 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to any Veterans Administration facility or the Indiana Fallen Heroes Foundation, Inc. These organizations support causes that were close to Richard's heart.

Richard George Such will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, his love for his family, and his commitment to serving his country. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
