Richard Rieman

December 26, 1922 — March 9, 2013

Richard F. Rieman, 90, of Zionsville, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away March 9, 2013. He was born December 26, 1922 to the late Frank E. and Frieda S. (Kleeman) Rieman. Richard graduated from Harry E. Wood (Manual) High School, but missed his junior year to run H. W. Rieman & Sons, his father's flower shop. Richard graduated from Rose Polytechnic Institute and served in the U. S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. He was an engineer for 35 years at Western Electric. His last job there was to divest the plant of its property. Richard then worked 11 years for Ertel Manufacturing in Indianapolis. As a young man, Richard was a member of St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church. He later joined Irvington Methodist Church. Richard also enjoyed membership in the Indianapolis Scientech Club, a 65 year member of Centre Masonic Lodge No. 23, Scottish Rite, and Murat Shrine Chanters. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Frances; daughter Margaret (Brad) Davis; grandson, Jeremy Davis; and his dear cousin, Robert (Mary) Kleeman. He was preceded in death by his children, Cynthia and Frank. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm, Friday, March 15, 2013 with a memorial service beginning at 4 pm at Flanner and Buchanan-Zionsville.
