Richard Joseph Newlin, 52 of Indianapolis, was one of the most genuine people you could ever meet. Known for his sense of humor and selfless nature, his laugh was infectious and his willingness to be present was unrivaled.
Born May 29, 1973, Rick was a veteran of the Air Force reserves, was a long-time truck driver, a motorcycle enthusiast, and an avid gamer. He was very well-known for his extraordinary talent as a drummer.
The youngest of four children, Rick could often be found hanging with his older siblings having fun outdoors, listening to music, and laughing. He and his son were planning a road trip to Sturgis, South Dakota, for a motorcycle adventure and to make more family memories.
Rick's unselfish nature made him someone people could call on and count on. The care he showed for others was both quiet and enormous.
Richard is survived by his son Lee, his mother Leslie, sisters Lori (Rob) and Bobbie (Rob), and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his grandparents Bob and Louise Newlin and Dick Law, his father William, and his big brother, Brian.
All are welcome to join the family on Thursday from 5 - 7 pm at Flanner and Buchanan on East Washington Street to remember Rick.
Memorial contributions can be made to the ABATE Miracle Foundation.
