Richard Stanley Newby

Richard Stanley Newby, age 95 of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, May 3, 2026 in the comfort of his daughter Connie’s home in Mooreville.

Richard was born on August 3, 1930 in Martinsville, IN, a son of George A. Newby and Huldah Agnes Amelia (Bremer) Newby. He was one of seven children. He is survived by his younger sister Marie Lachmayer of Indianapolis.

He is also survived by his two children: daughter Connie Gore of Mooresville, Indiana and son Richard (wife Diana McCartney) Newby of Spencer, IN.

Two grandchildren: Emylee Newby and Christopher Gore.

Great grandchildren: Dylan, Persephany Grace, Mila, and Rowan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 siblings and his son in law Terry Gore.

A graveside burial service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM at West Newton Cemetery. Elder Michael Earles will officiate.
