Richard Michael Cronin

Richard Michael Cronin, born July 28, 1951 in New York City, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend.

Richard is survived by his wife Margaret of 43 years and their four daughters and their families: Kim (husband Jason, and grandchildren Collin, Madelyn); Lauren (husband Joe, and granddaughter Kelila); daughter Crystal (wife Kourtney, and grandsons Brayden, Richie, Anthony, Jamison); and daughter Rikki (husband Kevin and grandson Corrado). Richard is the youngest of 18 children and is survived by his two brothers, Ron and Joe and his sister Kitty.

Their family lived in New Jersey, Upstate New York, and Georgia before settling in Indiana. Known professionally as a master carpenter and construction superintendent, Richard will also be remembered as a poet, painter, guitarist and USMC Vietnam War combat veteran. Within the last few years, Richard and Margaret traveled to South Korea, the United Kingdom and Ireland, Seattle, San Antonio, and New York.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 1-3pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, with a memorial service immediately following at 3pm.  At the memorial service, selections from Richard’s two published poetry books can be read. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center; donation envelopes will be available at the funeral center.  www.flannerbuchanan.com
