Indianapolis

Indianapolis, Indiana - Richard Allan McClure, 62, passed away suddenly after a brief illness. Rick was born to Eugene & Leona (Morris) McClure on October 12, 1961, here in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Rick loved to work. He owned and operated his own construction company for many years, specializing in home remodels until he retired and went to work for Ziebart Automotive Protection as their head of maintenance.

More than work though, Rick loved his family. He was known for greeting every day with his positive sense of humor, consisting mostly of dad jokes, and thinking that grumpiness just took more energy than it was worth.

To relax, Rick could be found fishing, kayaking, or cooking on his Blackstone Grill. He loved to listen to classic rock of the 70’s and 80’s with Creedence Clearwater Revival being among his favorite bands.

In addition to his parents, Rick is preceded in death by his stepfather Howard Catellier, stepmother Glenda McClure, sister Linda, and brother Frank McClure.

Rick is survived by his wife, Vickie (Puckett) McClure, children Kimberly Russel (Paul), Heather Pursley Spaulding, Angela Savage, Nichole Lacy (Barnes), Richard McClure Jr., and Tristan McClure, siblings Pam Lindsey, Patty Bullens, Mary Lou Collins, Fred McClure, Danny McClure, David McClure, and Brian McClure, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 1-3 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229) with funeral services following. Burial will be held at Washington Park East Cemetery immediately following services.
