Richard Long Sr.

71, of Indianapolis, died June 16, 2016. Richard was born October 25, 1944 in New Albany, IN to the late Raymond Long and Beatrice (Smith) Keach. Richard served his country during Vietnam in the US Air Force. Following his service, he worked as a machinist for the Indianapolis Star for 26 years, before retirement in 2010. He was member of St Christopher Catholic Church. He was well known for his love of coffee and made sure he never missed one of his children’s ballgames and helped coach several little league teams over the years. He will be greatly missed by all! He is survived by his sons Donald Long, Richard Long Jr., Dennis Bartlett; a daughter Sharon Kinnick; a brother Robert Long; a sister Becky Keesling and 9 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3pm until time of the services at 6pm at Flanner and Buchanan- Floral Park.
