Richard Lee Wellman

Richard Lee Wellman 75 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away unexpectedly August 19, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 8, 1947, to the late Desco L. and Frances M. (Westerfield) Wellman. Richard was retired from Diamond Chain Company. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Richard was a member of the American Legion and in his younger years was a member of the Boy’s Club. He loved his neighborhood and looked out for all those who lived there. Richard enjoyed gardening, mowing grass, tinkering, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all whom knew him. He is survived by his son, Keith A. Wellman, 13 grandchildren, his sister, Carol McWhorter, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and his faithful companions, his cat and his dog, Diamond, and Snigger. Richard’s desire was to be cremated and his family will be holding a Celebration of Life service.
