Richard Lee Chance,

69, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on May 8, 1948 to Albert W. and Charloitte O. Chance.

Richard absolutely adored his grandchildren, and loved being around them.  He could be described as a “Giving Soul.” He was so generous and thoughtful. For example, Richard was an active member of a community outreach program called, “God’s Helping Hands.” This Indianapolis, food service donated food to people of poverty in the community. He also was an organ donor, and through his selflessness he restored someone’s vision. These selfless acts are testimonies to who Richard was as a person.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved wife, Margie Chance. He is survived by his children, Michael Chance (Jennifer) and Paul Chance (Molly); siblings, Joseph Chance and Rick (Ruby); step children; and lots of grandchildren, including Anthony Connell whom he raised as his own child; great-grandchildren; and many special friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 2pm-4pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis. A funeral service will be held at 4pm.
