Richard Lapham

Richard “Dick” Lapham 89, Indianapolis, IN, passed away March 16, 2011. He was born Dec. 3, 1921 in Wilkinsburg, PA to the late Howard and Kathryn Lapham. Dick served in WWII. He married his high school sweetheart Jeane Macke in 1944. He graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1946. Dick worked for Elliott Steam Turbine for 10 years in Jenette, PA. He then worked for Lathrop-Trotter Company in both Cincinnati, Ohio and in Indianapolis for a total of 25 years before retiring in Dec. 1981. Dick enjoyed boating and golfing. He was a member of Hillcrest Country Club in Indianapolis for 40 years. Dick loved traveling the world with his wife, visiting 6 of the 7 continents before her death in 2004. Dick was also preceded in death by son Tom Lapham in 2007. Survivors include sons Jeff (Karen) Lapham, Paul Lapham, daughter Pat (Mark) Barnes, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Good Shepherd Chapel, 9700 Allisonville Road, Sat.
