Richard L. Kurtz,

87, of Mooresville, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 10, 1931 to Edward and Dorothy Kurtz.

Richard served two times in the US Navy. Upon his discharge, he began working for Allison’s Gas Turbine, Post 3 on Holt Road, and retired after 42 years. He was also a member of the UAW local 933 for 42 years. Richard was an avid fisherman and woodworker, and loved to spend time at his family lake house. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Richard was preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Phyllis Kurtz; children, Theresa Lewis, Phillip Kurtz (Amy Copeland), and Neil Kurtz (Shannon); brother, Bobby Kurtz (Gayle); 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 11am-1pm at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1pm.
