Richard G. Krumwied, 80, of Zionsville, died February 7, 2012. Richard was born June 24, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska to George E. and Francis M. Boyschou Krumwied; they preceded him in death as did his beloved wife, Joyce "Jo" Krumwied.
Mr. Krumwied graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a veteran of the United States Army Airborne having faithfully served his country during the Korean War.
He enjoyed a long and successful 23 year career as the Director of Marketing for Indiana Gas. After retiring from Indiana Gas, he worked as a sales representative for Output Sales. Mr. Krumwied was a member of St. Francis In-The-Fields Episcopal Church; he was a past president and leader of the Zionsville Lions Club; and he was an active member of the American Gas Association having been honored with their annual prestigious American Gas Association Award.
Mr. Krumwied is survived by his children, Robert D. Krumwied (Becky), Scott D. Krumwied (Nancy), Julie Anne Ayres; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Zachary, Nicholas, Erika, Adam, Andrew, Garrett, Kara; his great grandchildren Kaleb; and his son-in-law, Gordon Ayres.
Visitation will be from 10 am to 1 pm, Friday, February 10, 2012 at St. Francis In-The- Fields Episcopal Church, 1525 Mulberry St., Zionsville. A Celebration of his life faith will begin at 1 pm followed by a committal service with military honors at Zionsville Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers, the Krumwied family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Francis In-The-Fields Episcopal church, 1525 Mulberry St., Zionsville, IN 46077.
