Richard Joseph Hamilton

Richard Hamilton of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on June 7, 2023, at the age of 68. He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana, on July 17, 1954, to parents, Wilfred and  Deloris (Robertson) Hamilton. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1973. Richard was in the Marine Corps from 1976 to 1981 as a Field Radio Operator and Parachutist.  He was an SE at Ryder for 24 years until his retirement in 2023. Richard loved artwork and music; he was a self-taught guitar player. He was an avid IU, Colts, and Pacer’s fan. Richard loved watching his nieces and nephews play sports. He liked going out to breakfast with family. He will be missed tremendously by all the lives he touched.

He is survived by brothers, Douglas (Jan) Hamilton, Gerald (Susan) Hamilton; Sisters, Patricia (Pat) Cain, Diana (Tim) Haag, Teresa Hamilton; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN). A Funeral Service will be held the following day at 10AM, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. Burial will follow funeral service at Washington Park East Cemetery.
