Richard Dale Hinshaw, 95, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, just one day after his 95th birthday. A man of deep faith and quiet generosity, Dale devoted much of his life to helping others find direction, purpose, and meaningful work.
Born March 23, 1931, in Xenia, Ohio, he was the son of LeRoy and Anna Louise (Collins) Hinshaw. He graduated from Miami University with a degree in Marketing and later earned a graduate degree from Missouri State University. He served in the United States Army for two years.
In 1959, he married Patricia Ann Bulow, and together they built a 66-year life rooted in love, faith, and family. They raised two daughters, Tari and Tracy.
Dale’s professional career in human resources spanned decades, including 19 years with Armco Steel Corporation, followed by roles at Indiana National Bank and Esterline Angus. In 1989, he became a certified job search coach, beginning the work that would define his legacy.
In 1990, Dale helped found Business and Professional Exchange (BPE), an organization dedicated to helping individuals navigate career transitions. Over 25 years, BPE mentored thousands. Continuing that mission, he founded Team Networking Group (TNG) in 2010, which remains active today. In 2018, he co-authored Survive and Thrive in Your Job Search. Even in retirement, he remained actively involved in mentoring others, always willing to listen and offer thoughtful guidance.
Dale was a devoted member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. He found joy in tennis, bridge, puzzles, reading, and time with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, steady encouragement, and genuine interest in the success of others.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters Tari Beltzhoover (George) and Tracy Chandler (Geoff); granddaughter Rachel Almond (Nelson); sister Shirley Oglesbee; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Hinshaw.
A service will be held at 3:30 p.m., followed by visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Flanner Buchanan (325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN 46032).
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church or Grace on Wings. Dale became a devoted supporter of Grace on Wings after learning about its mission, and his family plans to continue that support in his memory
