Richard "Rick" Eugene Hensley

Richard “Rick” Eugene Hensley, 60, of Noblesville passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2023.  He was born December 30, 1962, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Darrell and Betty (Coulter) Hensley.  He married his high school sweetheart, Mary J. Vandegriff, on June 1, 1985.

Rick graduated from Delta High School in 1981. He continued his education with a Storer Scholarship at Purdue University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Rick was a life-long Miami Dolphins fan. He was an Eagle Scout in troop #37 Albany, Indiana. He loved the outdoors spending time hiking, camping, boating, playing disc golf.  His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.  He was a man of strong faith.  He and Mary built their family strong with faith as their foundation.  He was a member of iTown Church and enjoyed also attending Life Church Noblesvillle. He was also an active member of PHARE Warrior/Fight Club at iTown Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Hensley; three children, Samantha (E.J.) Beard, Sarah Hensley, and Brian (Claire) Hensley, two grandchildren, Elijah and Evalyn; and mother Betty Hensley, three siblings, Pamela (Chris) Pulley, Debra (Bob) Lehman, Bill (Nori) Hensley and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in passing by his father, Darrell W. Hensley; mother-in-law, Charlotte Vandegriff; and grandmother, Dorothy Emmaline Coulter Gorham.
