Richard H. Menke of Carmel passed away August 3, 2021 at the age of 75. He was born June 21, 1946 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Henry and Ruth Menke. He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and went on to obtain his MBA at Indiana University. He worked as a Manager in Global Facilities Delivery for Eli Lilly for over 27 years. He was very active in his community as a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, board member and Tiger Team member at Habitat for Humanity, member of the Indianapolis Symphony Association, board member of the Indiana Construction Roundtable, and a board member of the Construction Industry Institute. He enjoyed cooking, boating (especially at his place on Lake Monroe), reading, golfing, watching WWII documentaries, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Connie Joan Menke; sons Timothy Menke (Christy) and John Menke; grandchildren Alexis Shuler, Alivia Menke, Aidan Menke, Jaelyn Menke, Samuel Menke, Logan Menke, and Emma Menke; sisters Gretchen Anderson (Steve) and Kristin Dye (John); as well as his beloved Aunt Marie, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Madeline Weghorst. Visitation will be held Monday, August 9 from 12 to 2 PM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 8115 Oaklandon Road, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will begin at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
