Richard Alan Evans, age 70, of Carmel, Indiana, was called home on December 18.
Richard was the son of John and Janet Evans and was raised in Richmond, Indiana. He attended Richmond High School and furthered his education at Indiana Technical College.
A true craftsman in every sense, Richard was known for his strong work ethic, skilled hands, and pride in doing things the right way. He often engineered and machined his own tools, always finding a better, more efficient solution. Forever improving, fixing, and creating, Rick made it a point to pass his knowledge on to anyone willing to learn.
Richard was a proud American and a devoted Christian whose faith guided his life. Above all else, Richard was deeply proud of his two sons, Richard Evans Jr. and Kurt (Bailey) Evans. Being their father was one of his greatest joys, and he took great pride in the men they have become. Most recently, Richard traveled to Italy to celebrate Kurt and Bailey’s wedding and was joyfully looking forward to future grandchildren and an expanding family.
Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Evans Jr. and Kurt Evans; his daughter-in-law, Bailey Evans; and his siblings: Joan Lehman, John (Wilda) Evans, Cathy Smith, Steve Evans, Bobby (Tonya) Evans, and Carol (Jeff) Mullins, along with several nieces and nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, John and Janet Evans, and his brother David Evans.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2nd, from 2-3 pm with a funeral service to follow at 3 pm at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blv,d W Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46228.
