Richard Eugene Easton

Richard Eugene Easton, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Richard was born on September 10, 1930 to the late John Lester and Minta Ellen Easton. As a young man he spent two years in the army overseas in the aftermath of World War II. He married Shirley Cox Easton on October 8, 1955. Richard worked in the press room at Star News for 42 years, and was the union president for 12 years. Richard was predeceased by his sons Dennis Mortsolf and John Easton. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Easton of Indianapolis; his siblings Rose Cantwell and Steve Easton; daughter Karen (David) Pflum of Indianapolis; grandchildren Andrew (Amy) Pflum of Indianapolis, Jennifer Pflum of Des Moines, NM, James Norris of Indianapolis, Kevin (Amy) Easton of Bloomington, Stephen (Cheryl) Pflum of Indianapolis; five great grandchildren; and several nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 4:00 PM at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street. Friends are invited to meet with the family also on Friday prior to services from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
