Richard Ellsworth

Richard C. Ellsworth 77 of Carmel passed away September 27, 2011. Rich was in the interstate trucking industry for over 48 years. He started at age 18 with the Ellsworth Freight Lines and retired in 1999 from the Transport Corps of America. After retirement he was employed part time with Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers for 11 years. Rich was an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie Beth Schnuete and brother James Ellsworth. Rich is survived by his wife of 60 years Marjorie R. Ellsworth, children Douglas R. (Betty) Ellsworth, Margo J. (Jeff) Witkowsky, Sue A. (Ron) Crawford and Jeanne K. (Mark) Doan; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; brothers Edward and Raymond W. Ellsworth; sisters Lois Adams, Pat Coleman and Eldene Mericle. Memorial services will be Saturday, October 1, 1pm Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 10202 N. Meridian Street with visitation at the church from 11am to the service time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sharing Place Diaper Bank, 1525 N. Ritter Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219 , Ronald McDonald House or Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Arrangements by Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center- Broad Ripple.
