Richard Edward Garrison

Richard Edward Garrison, 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015. He was born on December 15, 1926 in Indianapolis to David Richard and Lillian (Ward) Garrison. Richard was a graduate of Howe High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Richard worked for the U.S. Postal service for 42 years, retiring in 1990. He is survived by his sons, Lou, Bob (Linda), Joe (Meg), Chris, Rich; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his sisters, Rosemary Green-Terhune, Edith Griffin and Edna Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim and Robert; wife, Arlean; and son, David. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at Flanner and Buchanan Speedway from 4-7pm. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 10am, also at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in West Ridge Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Indianapolis Humane Society.
