Richard E. Isenhour

Richard E. Isenhour, 88 Indianapolis, passed away May 25, 2013. He was born December 3, 1924 to Ira and Marie Isenhour in Indianapolis, where he lived his entire life. A graduate of Broad Ripple High School, he served in the United States Army during World War II. In 1945, he married Ruth Gammon, who precedes him death. Married 64 years, they were parents to Marcia K. and Christine. He worked 35 years for Indiana Bell. He was an active member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church and the Pike Township Lions Club. A great lover of music, he sang in a quartet for 35 years. In his spare time he was found frequently sketching or painting familiar scenes of New Augusta, refinishing furniture, playing golf, making home repairs and spending time with family. He is survived by his daughters, Marcia and Christine, grandchildren, Suzanne Callahan, Scott Powell, Erin Jefferson, Adam Jefferson, and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pike Township Lions Club, c/o Ed Harper, 7775 Melbourne Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46268 and Crooked Creek Baptist Church, 5540 Michigan Rd. Indianapolis, IN 46228. Visitation will Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North from 4-8 pm and Thursday from 10-11 am with the funeral service beginning at 11am.
