Richard E. "Dick" Martz, 94, of Greenfield, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2014. He was born February 21, 1920 in Indianapolis to the late Dr. William G. and Dorothy Marshall Martz.
Dick proudly served in the US Army during World War II. He attended Purdue University and worked as a Chemical Engineer for Naval Avionics until his retirement. He is a member of Warren Baptist Church, The Gideons International, and Wycliffe Associates. Mr. Martz volunteered at Wheeler Mission for over 50 years. He enjoyed collecting Bibles, beekeeping, and spending time with his family – all of whom love and dearly miss him.
Surviving is his wife of 70 years, Margaret Clarene King Martz; children Barbara Martz, Mary (Ron) Bowles, Kay Collier, and Rick (Sonja) Martz; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, William M. Martz.
