Richard Dwight “Dick” Moody, 91 of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday August 5, 2021. He was born on July 4, 1930 in Pittsfield, MA to the late Edwin and Mary Moody. Dick served in the Air Force during the Korean War, going through the pilot program to get his license. After he left the Air Force, Dick went on to fly for Eastern Airlines as a commercial airline pilot, retiring after many years of service. He was a long-time resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and loved to spend his free time golfing, sailing, and reading.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Camilla Moody; grandchildren, Jordan Moody, Kayla Moody-Grant, and Elijah Moody-Grant; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his wife, Marilyn Moody; daughter, Susan Moody; and brothers Edwin, Frederick, and Joseph Moody.
Military honors will be rendered for Dick on Wednesday August 11, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229).
