Richard "Dick" Joseph Vitales

Richard (Dick) Joseph Vitales, 85, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on September 6th, 2022 surrounded by family and friends.

He was born to parents Joseph and Viola Vitales, on March 14, 1937, in Elgin, Illinois. Dick graduated from the University of Arizona in May of 1959 with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked 37 years for Hewlett Packard, retiring in 1996.

He married Janet, the love of his life, in 1979, who survives him. Dick is also survived by sons Randall Vitales (Tami), Ronald Vitales (Tracy), Ross Vitales (Chris) and daughters Debra Mausel and Susan Watts (Jay), grandchildren Joseph Vitales, Eric Heinzman, Riley Vitales, Todd Watts, Betsy Watts, Alex Vitales and Sean Vitales. Dick was predeceased by parents Joseph and Viola, and sisters Lois Hector and Gloria Garry.

Dick had a passion for woodworking, loved fixing things for others, being involved in his church, cheering for his beloved University of Arizona Wildcats, spending time with family, playing cards and board games, vacationing, taking bike rides and golfing with friends.

A Gathering will held on Monday, September 12, 2022, from 11:00 to 1:00, with a Memorial Service at 1:00, at Church at the Crossing on Haverstick Road in Indianapolis. Dick supported The Wheeler Mission and The Church At The Crossing, people may make donations in support in lieu of sending flowers.
