Richard C. Ellsworth,
85, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2011. He was born on February 22, 1926 in Detroit, MI to Cecil Richard and Madeline M. (Carlson) Ellsworth. Richard served his country in the US Army Air Corp. during WWII and was active in many areas of the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of Shriners International, American Legion Post 34, the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and Grand Lodge, Free Masons of Michigan. Richard is survived by his children, Pat Cockrum (Al Wangerin), Susan (Gordon) Hamilton, Rick (Kathy) Ellsworth; grandchildren, Rebecca, Dale, Kim, Elizabeth, Cheryl; 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Ellsworth, who passed away in 2005. Funeral services for Mr. Ellsworth will be held at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, on Monday, December 19, 2011 at 10am. Visitation will be from 2 until 6pm on Sunday, December 18, 2011, also at the funeral home. Entombment will take place in Washington Park East Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, Crossroads of America Council.
