Richard Carl Lindstaedt, 89, of Indianapolis, Indiana, retired Director of Market Research for the Elanco Division of Eli Lilly & Co., passed away on August 12, 2014.
Richard Carl Lindstaedt was born 8/16/1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Elmer Carl Lindstaedt and Thelma Gross Creager. He survived his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Reynolds Lindstaedt, and their son, David Howard Lindstaedt, and he survived his sister, Joan Lindstaedt Prange of New Palestine, IN. He is survived by his sons and their wives, John Richard and Kathleen Drummond Lindstaedt of Indianapolis and James Brian and Jane Williams Lindstaedt of Indianapolis, and by two grand children, Virginia Ann Lindstaedt Cope and Travis Benjamin Lindstaedt and 2 great-grandchildren, Paige Alexa Cope and Dylan Jameson Cope. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Dorothy Jean Lindstaedt, and her three children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Lindstaedt was an Elder of Faith Presbyterian Church, where he was a 53-year member, and was a founder of Boy Scout Troop 275. He received his BS in Business from Butler University in1949, followed by marketing and management training courses at Northwestern University. He served during WWII in the Army Air Corp as an aerial gunnery instructor of B17 and B29 crews. He was a member of the Lilly Post of the American Legion and a 59-year member of the American Marketing Association. He was a seasonal resident of Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, Indiana, and of Bonita Springs, Florida.
