Richard Bower

Richard A. Bower 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 12, 2015. He was born to the late Charles N. and Martha Lois Bower in Noble County, Indiana on February 7, 1932. He married Theresa H. Zeilinski on June 26, 1954 and they were together 50 years until her death in 2005. Richard enjoyed fishing, golfing and following all of the activities of his grandchildren. He was in sales and management for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 30 years and after retiring worked as Bower Insurance for another 10 years. He was a Chartered Life Underwriter and a member of the National Association Security Dealers. He belonged to the VFW Post 261(Indianapolis) and the Knights of Columbus Council 5290 (Indianapolis). Richard is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Bruce and Walter. Surviving to cherish his memory are children, Cynthia Bower and Kevin (Maureen) Bower; grandchildren, Erin (Nathan) Patterson, Megan (Eric) Tannenbaum and Kevin M. Bower; three great-grandchildren, Clara Rose Patterson, Gwyneth Mary Patterson and Eli Mitchell Tannenbaum, sisters, Nancy (Jerry) Parish of Churubusco, Indiana and Janet Gross of Woodland Hills, California.
