In Memoriam: Richard Eugene Bibb (Date of Passing: September 3rd)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard E. Bibb, on September 3rd, 2023.

Richard was born February 21, 1942, in Madison, Indiana.  His life was marked by his gentle kindness, strong work ethic, his love for travel, and his unwavering devotion to family.

Richard was raised in Lawrence, Indiana. He was a proud graduate of Lawrence High School where he participated in every sport available.  He became a pipefitter and proud member of the U.A. Local 440 alongside his father, Lawrence Bibb, forging a powerful union of skills and shared experiences.  Richard's commitment to his craft was unwavering and he contributed countless hours to the industry.

Richard spent many formative years in Madison, Indiana, at a place that held a special spot in his heart; his grandparents’ (Howard and Ola Reed) farm.  It was in Madison where he cultivated cherished memories and his love for horses that would last a lifetime.

One of Richard's greatest passions was travel. He found immense joy in exploring new destinations and, most importantly, spending quality time with old and new friends, and family. His adventures took him far and wide, from the vibrant landscapes of Mexico to the warmth of Texas, the beauty of Colorado, and the charm of Alabama. His zest for life and eagerness to embrace new experiences left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to accompany him on his journeys. Everywhere Richard landed, he forged new and endearing friendships with those he met.  Most recently Richard cherished the friendships he made in Greenwood, IN at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving parents, Herbert Lawrence Bibb and Anna Lucille (Reed) Bibb, his loving wife Minnie "Sue" (Lee) Bibb,  his sisters Valerie Lynn Bibb and Ruth Ann (Bibb) Pullman, brother-in-law Jimmie Lee Pullman and nephew Jeffery Allen Pullman.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, survived by numerous family members and friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.  He is survived by his sister Sharon Kay (Bibb) Jude, stepson Keith (Catherine Methot) Lee, step-grandsons Kyle (Samantha) Lee of Littleton, Colorado and Tyler Lee of Mammoth Lakes, California, as well as two nieces and a nephew; Anna Margaret (David Rainbolt) Pullman-Rainbolt, Melissa Jude, and Michael Dean Pullman.  Richard also leaves behind his adopted family of godson Malcolm, Cathy, Joshua and Mary Ramsey, and, numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and, his step-grandson, TJ.

Richard Bibb's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit will continue to shine through the cherished memories he created and the love he shared with all who knew him. In our hearts, he will forever remain a beloved union pipefitter, a traveler extraordinaire, and a spunky cherished member of our families.
