Richard Arthur Knarr 75 of Indianapolis died February 01, 2012. Richard was born on June 25, 1936 in Greensburg, IN to Floyd M. and Thelma L. (Stanley) Knarr. Richard served our country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 through 1958. He was a lifetime member of the Lynhurst Baptist Church. Richard was the President of Audit Consultants/Risk Appraisal Inc., an Indianapolis, IN based regional independent service company where he retired in 2007. He was a contributing author to the APA 92 textbooks; a charter member and Executive Director of the National Society of Insurance Premium Auditors; former Editor of The National Auditor newsletter; founding Editor/ Publisher of the Premium Audit Ledger; and recipient of NSIPA's distinguished service award. Richard was the Past President of Insurance Auditors Association of Indiana; where Richard received the "Auditor of the Year" awards from both organizations; and served on committees and other officer positions as well. He was a member of Top Achiever Section 903 of the American Society for Quality Control and Past Conference Chair for that section. He was also a member of the Indiana Workers Compensation Institute. On October 08, 2010 Richard and June celebrated their 50th year of marriage. Richard is survived by his wife H. June (Rapp) Knarr and their children Kimberley (Ira) Seigel, Dawn (Darrel) Fitch and Christopher (Haley) Knarr and his sister Sharon (Fred) Feister and five grandchildren Cassandra (Nicholas) Justice, Christopher Knarr, Brenna Knarr, Ally Knarr and Trevor Fitch. Calling will be Monday February 06, 2012 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park North from 5 PM to 9 PM with additional calling Tuesday February 07 from 10 AM to service time beginning at 11 AM.
