Richard A. Linville 77 of Avon, IN died July 05, 2012. Dick was born July 23, 1934 in Indianapolis. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and The Order of A.H.E.P.A. Dick was appointed to serve the community as a Indianapolis Firefighter on November 15, 1956 and he retired on July 20, 1981. In 1970 he received the distinguished honor of Fireman of the Year. He also was the Safety and Security Director for Reilly Industries. Calling for Dick will be on Sunday July 08, 2012 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 3500 West 106th Street Carmel, IN 46032 from 4 PM to 8 PM with an A.H.E.P.A. Service at 7:15 followed by a Trisagion Service at 7:30 PM. An additional hour of calling will be held on Monday July 09, 2012 beginning at 10 AM followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11 AM. Dick is survived by his beloved wife Virginia K. (Kretheotis) Linville, his children Vicki (Brad), Nicki (Gary), Gina (Larry), and Chris (Toula), grandchildren Jennifer, Rob, Ian, Ali, Demitri and great granddaughter Halie. Dick is also survived by his siblings Diann (Terry), Johnny (Pam), Jenny (John) and Cindy (Denny). Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church or to the Firefighters Survive Alive Program. Flanner and Buchanan- Speedway are handling arrangements.
