Richard A. Burton

Richard A. Burton of Carmel died September 3, 2011. Dick was born March 26, 1928, in Kentland, Indiana, to Bracy and Ruth Burton. He is survived by his wife Elnora, his children Mark Burton (Debbie) and Carol Robley; grandchildren Eric, Jennifer, Angela, Brad, Tracy, Kristi and Michael; 5 great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. He attended Mooresville High School and Purdue University and was proud to have been a United States Marine. He was employed in the insurance field as a loss control consultant and manager. Dick was a man of faith and was a 50-year member of Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, deacon and elder. Dick loved all sports, but truly looked forward to every day he could spend on a golf course. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at 1605 E 106th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46280 or the Disabled American Veterans organization. Visitation will be at the church, Wednesday, September 7, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m..
