Rex W. Fletcher 61 of Bloomington, Indiana died March 3, 2011 at the I. U. Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on July 25, 1949 in Noble County, Indiana the son of William H. and Velma L. (Johnson) Fletcher. A 1967 graduate of Churubusco High School and earned Batchelors and Masters degrees from Indiana University. In 2008 he retired as a teacher in the Monroe County Community School Corporation, he last served at Batchelor Middle School. During his teaching career he coached football and baseball at Bloomington High School South and was Head Football, Cross Country and Track coach at Batchelor Middle School. He also was an usher at Indiana University Athletic Events. Many considered him the ultimate sports authority. He was a member of the Churubusco Church of the Nazarene. Survivors: daughter, Carla (Cal E. Blake, Fiance) Fletcher of Boomington, Indiana; sisters, Marla Gordon of Churubusco, Indiana and Sharon Eminger of Ege, Indiana; brothers, Robert Fletcher of Huntertown, Indiana and Tony Fletcher of Churubusco, Indiana; father, William H. Fletcher of Churubusco, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Fletcher. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Deremiah – Frye Mortuary 700 Gourley Pike in Bloomington, Indiana. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Deremiah – Frye Mortuary. Burial will be at Hill River Cemetery in Churubusco, Indiana. Contributions in Memory of Rex may be made to your favorite charity. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center – Washington Park East.
