Reva L. O'Neal

Reva L. O’Neal of Fishers, Indiana; beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away September 12, 2021.

She was born in a log cabin in rural Parke County, Indiana, the seventh of eight children of Charles and Rosa (Muncie) Lawson, on May 18, 1920.

Reva married Wayne (Bill) O’Neal in 1938, a union lasting 39 years, Bill preceding her in death in 1977.

Her work career spanned 33 years, encompassing several years of editorial work with Bobbs Merrill Publishing Company, as well as Personnel Department with Howard W. Sams, later ITT Publishing, retiring in 1985.

Reva was a member of E. 91^st Christian Church and active in various capacities since January 1978.

Her mother, father and seven siblings all preceded her in death, as did her beloved son, Charles William (Bill), her grandson, Curtis and granddaughter, Kimberly.

Reva is survived by her daughter, Kathy McDermott (Mike) and daughter-in-law, Lucy O’Neal; as well as grandchildren: Theresa Screeton (Gary), Diana L. McGill, Sherri Jenkins (Mark), Ellen Ward, Chad McDermott and Marcia O’Neal.

Also surviving are her much loved great-grandchildren: Eric, Kevin, Troy, Morgan, Taylor, Caleb, Sydney, Ethan, Ayden, Lili, Emma and Audrey.

Relatives and friends will treasure memories of the way in which she touched their lives.  She will live in our hearts forever.

Family and friends may call from 12pm until 2pm on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, where funeral services will immediately follow beginning at 2pm.
