Rev. Ronald C. Welsh

Rev. Ronald C. Welsh, 72, Fishers, passed away May 26, 2016. He was born on August 10, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late Charles and Thelma (Shanteau) Welsh. He married Carolyn S. Horn on September 3, 1966.

Rev. Welsh was a graduate of Concordia Jr. College, Milwaukee, Wisc., Concordia Sr. College Ft. Wayne, IN, and Concordia Seminary in Springfield ILL. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland Ohio.
Rev. Welsh served congregations in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod thru out West Virginia, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Ohio. He and Carolyn settled in Indiana where he served as Chaplain at St. Vincent Hospital 86th Street for 18 years and was a volunteer Chaplain with the Indiana State Police. He was an active member of Carmel Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Welsh; three children, Timothy (Karen) Welsh, Brian (Nancy) Welsh, and Heidi (Kevin) Smith; 9 grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Rocco) DeMaria; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by a grandson.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Carmel Lutheran Church, 4850 East Main Street. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
