Renato S. Casciari (affectionately known as Ray), age 101 years, of Carmel Indiana, entered Eternal Life on June 13, 2023 while living at the Barrington of Carmel.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Bianca and survived by his wife Carol and his six children, Ray, wife Colleen; Mark, wife Joan; Brian wife Jan; Julie, husband Jim; Lili, husband Mike; and Janie, husband Bill; as well as by 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Renato proudly served his country as a B-24 pilot in the Army Air Corp stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. After his Honorable Discharge in 1946 he received his Engineering Degree from Penn State University. He worked as an Industrial Engineer for New Holland Machine, Lebanon Steel, and Carrier-Bryant Corporation. After retiring he became an independent consultant helping companies with just-in-time manufacturing.
Renato participated in many community affairs, and was active in Retired Executives, Junior Achievement and Boy Scouts of America. He was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, and was a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
Renato loved life to the max. He and his wife Carol loved Penn State football, Purdue football and basketball, Italian food, wine at happy hour, cruising, traveling especially to visit family in Italy, and most of all their family. Renato loved being around his family, especially his great grandchildren.
He will be missed. This great life will be celebrated with a viewing on June 21st from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive and a service on June 22nd at 10:30 a.m. at St.Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 10655 Haverstick Road, with the eulogy to be given at 10:15 a.m.
