Rena Jo Watson (nee Stegner), 83, of Noblesville, IN passed away Friday, February 4, 2022.  Rena Jo was born on June the 1st, 1938 in Connersville, IN to the late Frank and Verabelle Stegner (nee Henry).  Rena Jo grew up in Connersville and the close family farms.  She graduated Connersville High School in 1957 a Business Major.

Rena Jo started her career by moving to Indianapolis to continue her studies at IUPUI and start her career as a secretary/stenographer for RCA, and then as secretary to the Dean of IU Law School in 1958.  It was there she met her future husband, Richard Prather Watson, whom she married February 14th, 1960.  Rena Jo was secretary for husband’s law firm for several years.  From 1989 to 2004 she worked as an executive secretary for the Vice President of Marketing Dow-Elanco until her retirement in 2005.

Mrs. Watson was a long-time member of Lawrence United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN until moving in 2000 and joining with First United Methodist Church of Noblesville, IN.

Family and Friends are invited to gather from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm local time Saturday, February the 12th at First United Methodist Church of Noblesville where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February the 14th at 12:00 pm local time at Ashmore Cemetery in Ashmore, Illinois.

Rena Jo was the widow of Richard Prather Watson.  She is survived by her siblings, Doug Stegner and Shelly Hodges (nee Stegner); her sons, R. Gregg (wife Darcy) and Steven T. (wife Laura) Watson; grandchildren, Anne Grace Fleming (nee Watson) (husband Collin), Mae Kathleen Watson, Kaylee Jo Watson, Jane Ellen Watson, Samantha Lynn Watson.
