Regina Sue Wodarz, at 71, passed away in her Greenfield home on June 19th, 2021. Sue was born in Beech Grove and was a lifetime Hoosier, mostly living in/around New Palestine and Greenfield, IN. Sue began working at a young age and found herself in the banking industry for many years. She then transitioned into retail and eventually found her true passion of helping and giving to others. Sue spent the next decade with Lutheran Child and Family Services, which allowed her to further expand her passion of giving. During this time, Sue also volunteered with Sertoma, which has a rich history of helping others across the country with a mission of Service to Mankind. This was a match made in heaven, and Sue was ultimately named the Sertoman of the Year for outstanding service to the community. Despite a hectic work schedule, Sue had many interests and passions, but none were more important, and dear to her heart, than her love and loyalty to her family. If you knew Sue, then you surely have heard her boasting about her ‘boys’, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other loved ones – she was always in their corner. Sue was a social butterfly, and would make friends very quickly with countless people, many of which remained to be lifelong friends. It wasn’t uncommon for Sue and her friends to take regular girl trips, binge on some Netflix or the Hallmark channel, find the latest local cuisine, or do some serious shopping – as a passionate giver, Sue had perfected this skill.
Sue is survived by her husband Dietrich; her three sons Chris, Corey and Eddie; grandchildren Jasmine, Natasha, Giovanni, Amber, Austin and Wesley; her great-grandchildren Harper, Greyson and Angelo; her mother Helen; sister Mary Ann; and her brothers Jim and Jay.
The family will receive friends and guests at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26th for viewing with funeral service to begin at 3 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East at 10722 E. Washington St. in Indianapolis.
