Rebecca M. Sheridan

Miss Rebecca Sheridan, 16, left this world too soon, on August 8th, 2026. She was born April 20th, 2010, in Indianapolis, to her adoring parents Stephen and Laura. Rebecca was a valiant warrior in her 2 year battle with Osteosarcoma, with the help of the many doctors, nurses and therapists at Riley Hospital for Children.

Rebecca attended Amy Beverland Elementary School, Geist Montessori for middle school and most recently Purdue Polytechnic High School at Englewood. Her natural curiosity made her an excellent student and she cherished the friendships she made in school.

She was a valued member of Girl Scout troops #908 and #1333, completing her Bronze award and all the work for her Silver award project; cancer kept her from completing it. She and her family were also members of Holy Spirit Geist Catholic Church.

Rebecca was a vibrant, intelligent young woman, and endlessly creative. She had a passion for the arts, particularly live musicals; Hamilton, Hades Town and Little Shop of Horrors (mainly due to meeting Thomas Doherty who played Seymour & Harry Hook in Disney Descendants 2) being some of her favorites. She enjoyed her Make a Wish trip to see 6 musicals live on Broadway. Rebecca enjoyed reading, sewing, diamond art painting and taught herself to crochet. She adored her squishmellow Morton and all her Cinnamon Roll stuffies. She always looked forward to creating art with her Riley Art Therapist. She was proud to offer her crocheted and crafted wares at Geist Montessori’s craft fair and to have her art work displayed at Riley.

Rebecca enjoyed gymnastics, swimming, and dancing. She practiced Irish dance for a bit and participated in a few dance academy programs. To relax, Becca liked to play Animal crossing and Snapchat with friends.

She is survived by her parents Stephen Sheridan and Laura Gillis-Sheridan; brother Chris (Sharon) Sheridan and niece Sawyer; maternal grandmother Nancy Gillis-Watts; God Parents Uncle Mark and Aunt Robin Sheridan (cousins Alex, Nick & Gina) Aunt Sharon Gillis (Bruce Guard), Uncle Mike Gillis; cousin Brittany (Andrew) Filler, (Rowan & Easton), cousin Caitie Gillis, (Jr. & Case), and cousin Jessica Gillis, Aunt JoAnn Sheridan (cousin Megan Guess (Kyra, Dominique, and Lyric)), Uncle Jack (Julie) Sheridan (cousins Phillip, Iggy, Jules, Tim, & CC), Uncle Jay (Kimberly) Sheridan (cousins Mattthew & Katie) and cousin Jacie Sheridan.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents John and Marsha Sheridan; her maternal grandfather Jack Gillis; her uncle Bill Sheridan and Aunt Nancy Sheridan.

Rebecca asked that people wear her favorite color, teal, or Cinnamon Roll (Hello Kitty’s friend) shirts. There will be a meal served after the mass.
