Rebecca 'Becky' Helbert

January 17, 1940 — February 5, 2014

Becky (Rebecca) Helbert of Carmel, Indiana, quietly slipped away and went to be with God on February 5, 2014. She was the wife of Jan Edward Helbert and mother of sons, Erik, Tyler and Weston (Toni) (Scottsdale, Arizona) and her daughter, Kristin, who predeceased her in 2006. She was borne to the late Robert and Maxine Hampton of Richmond, Indiana. She was the eldest of her brothers, Robert (Karen) of Tyler, Texas, John (Jane) of Boquete, Panama, William (Becky) of San Antonio, Texas and her sister, Sarah Fischer (Terry) of Bloomington, Indiana. She graduated from Richmond High School; attended Indiana University, Bloomington, where she was a Kappa Delta; attended IU school of Nursing; worked in the medical field and retired from the Carmel-Clay Public Library. She was past president of Indiana Law Wives; involved in Tri-Kappa sorority and, was a St. Vincent Hospital Volunteer. She was so enormously grateful for all those close and dearest friends who provided so much comfort, assistance and encouragement to her in her most difficult times. There will be a calling at Flanner and Buchanan – Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive, Carmel, Indiana on Sunday, February 9, 2014 with a showing beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon followed by a memorial service from noon until 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make any donation in her name to the ASPCA or the Hamilton County humane society.
