Rebecca “Becky” Ann Dodson, 67, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died on August 6, 2025. Born on March 19, 1958, in Indianapolis to the late Carroll and Thelma Miller, Becky lived a life marked by resilience, love, and fierce loyalty to those she held close.
Becky devoted much of her life to caring for her family and creating a warm, lively home. She poured her energy into the people and spaces she loved, always moving, always tending—to her garden, her grandchildren, her pets, and her home.
A lifelong Hoosier, Becky was a passionate fan of Indiana sports, especially the Colts and the Pacers. She filled her days with the things and people she loved: walking her dog Sloan, working on puzzles, sitting on her front porch swing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her green thumb was unmistakable—sunflowers and zinnias lined the yard, and her porch overflowed with vibrant, leafy plants.
Becky is preceded in death by her son, Jeff Dodson, and granddaughters, Mikinzie Dodson and Haley Wright. She is survived by her children, Melissa Dodson (Jeff Highland) and Joe Dodson (Jessie) and her grandchildren, Michael, Addison, and Jaiden Wright and Abe and Baxter Dodson; and her siblings, Greg Miller, Mark Miller, and Carol Johnson, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who carry her memory with love.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250. Burial will take place immediately after the service at the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Becky’s memory to a local addiction recovery organization or animal shelter—causes close to her heart.
