Raymond L. Goddard, Jr.

Passed away on August 17, 2016 in Idabel, Oklahoma. Raymond was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on October 5, 1919 to Raymond Lee Goddard, Sr. and Mary Helen (Nelson) Goddard. He lived most of his life in the Indianapolis area. He was a World War II veteran. After the war, he became a minister in The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was assistant pastor to Bishop A.D. Anderson. He was district secretary-treasurer for his organization. In the 1970’s, he was asked to be an Elder on the board of Calvary Tabernacle, Indianapolis. Later he was on the board of Indiana Bible College, until his retirement in 2000. He also pastored the Living Stone Pentecostal Church in Greenfield, Indiana 1961-1968. He owned Hill’s Cracked Block Service in Indianapolis for 40 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 55 years, Elma Marie (Graves) Goddard; a son, Phillip Lee Goddard; his second wife, Miriam (Ebby) Goddard; four sisters, Gretchen Scalf, Lois Silvers, Helen Johnson, and Virginia Brown; great-granddaughter, Adaylia Grace Gill; and great-grandson, Adian James Gill.

He is survived by three sons, Larry Goddard and his wife Julia, Michael Goddard, and Glen Goddard and his wife Deborah; one daughter, Lila Goddard Moore and her husband Rev. Don Moore; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Friends may call from 4pm until 8pm on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Memorial Park. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Calvary Tabernacle Church, 902 Fletcher Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, where additional calling will be held from 1pm until the service time. Private burial will take place in Anderson Cemetery, Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Raymond’s memory to Calvary Christian School, 3639 South Keystone Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227.
