Raymond E. Galloway, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away May 2, 2014.
Ray is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Campbell) Galloway; children, Kathy Riesenmey, Teresa A. Galloway, William E. Galloway and Paul Galloway; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ray graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1953 and attended Butler University. Overcoming adversity in his early years, Ray was a man of integrity, dedication and was well respected by all who knew him. As Construction Manager at Indiana Bell, he and his staff were instrumental in bringing Fiber Optics to Indiana in 1987. He retired in 1991 after 38 years of service.
Ray was practicing "Paying It Forward" many years before it became a popular thing to do. He and Barbara volunteered at St. Francis Hospital for several years. As a highly regarded and longtime member of Millersville Masonic Lodge #126 F & AM, he served as Worshipful Master in 1992. Ray's family came first in his heart as demonstrated by his numerous activities with his children and their children.
A Celebration of Ray's Life will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229.
