Ray C. Voelpel, 90, went to be with our Lord Jesus on February 16, 2012. He was born February 14, 1922 in Morton, IL and a graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI. He was co-founder of Century 21 Realty Group I, Indianapolis, IN. Before retiring he served as Vice President and Chairman of the board. He also held many positions with the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors. He had previously been a top sales leader with F.C. Tucker Company, Inc. Ray was a veteran of WWII as a member of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division. He participated in the D-Day invasion of Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge and many other battles across Germany and served until the end of the war. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster, Presidential Unit Citation, Four Campaign Ribbons and the French Croix De Guerrs. Ray will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He always generously provided for the needs of his family. He and Joyce were members of Northview Church in Carmel, IN supporting multiple ministries over the years. Ray is survived by his wife, Joyce Burns Voelpel, sister Phyllis (Dean) Garner, sons, Mark (Debbie) Voelpel, David (Lisa) Voelpel and Tom Voelpel, three granddaughters, Niki Voelpel, Randi (Nathan) Larson and Megan Voelpel and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Selah Larson. We all look forward to being with him again when we also arrive in the presence of our Lord Jesus.
