Randolph “Randy” Grant Pleasant 85, of Indianapolis, IN passed away April 24, 2026. Randy was born on August 23, 1940 in Cleveland, MS to Everard Grant and Thelma (Chapman) Pleasant. Randy attended Hill Demonstration School K through 6th grade before going to Cleveland Jr. High and High School where he played football, basketball, track and baseball and he graduated in 1958 from high school. 

He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1964 where he received a baseball scholarship and won a S.E.C. Championship. He was nominated by a Senator to fight fires out West one summer. And he worked with the U.S.D.A. to measure cotton averages one summer. 

Randy served our country in the United States Army. He worked for Allison Transmission Division of General Motors where Randy was in Sales. He was a avid lover of all types of sports and especially golf. 

Randy was preceded in death by his wife Susan Jane (Weaver) Pleasant. Calling will be held on Tuesday April 28th, 2026 at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway from 11 am to 1 pm with funeral services beginning at 1 pm. Burial with military honors will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. 

Randy is survived by his children, Lisa Anne Pleasant and Andrew Grant (Ashley) Pleasant, his step grandchildren, Abbigail Rose Strickland and Andrew Robert Strickland and his sister, Paula (Robert) Yeska.
