Randolph L. Hartley died September 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 73.
He was born January 18, 1948 in Indianapolis.
He graduated from the Latin School in 1966 and was a graduate of IUPUI with a BS in Geology. He served in the US Army Security Agency during Vietnam. He was proud of his career as both a letter carrier for the Postal Service and a computer programmer analyst for the DFAS Program at Ft. Harrison from 1981-2001.
Randy was an avid reader. He was a New York Yankees fan from the age of 8. You could catch him doing statistics for IU basketball or the NY Yankees. He loved basset hounds. He was a proud member of the Army Security Agency (ASA) and attended yearly reunions throughout the US.
He is survived by his wife Barbara M. Hartley; daughters Sarah James (Alan) and Jenny Hartley; granddaughter Emersyn James; siblings Altha Kerl and Melva Smith. He was a loved uncle, cousin, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother Imogene Ralston; aunt Irene Russell; brother Matthew Hartley and brother-in-law Andrew Kerl.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 13 at 4 PM in Flanner Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis.
